WHERE DOES THE RETREAT TAKE PLACE?
In the beautiful, peaceful Adirondack Mountains of northeastern New York, on the shores of lovely Lake Clear, during the peak of Fall Foliage Season, you will have the time and space to truly relax and rejuvenate, and by allowing yourself to do so, discover new perspectives and actions that will transform not only your playing, but deepen your connection to your music, creativity and Nature.

WHAT IS SENSORY IMMERSION IN NATURE?
Sensory awakening activities in a natural setting, encouraging and facilitating a deeper, more profound awareness of the natural world all around us, that we are a part of. These activities and awareness in turn facilitates a deeper, more profound awareness of our harp playing, our music and creativity. Specifically, we will do a Forest Bathing Sensory Immersion.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO YOU AND YOUR HARP JOURNEY?
Several years ago I gifted myself a 4-week creative retreat of my own design, it was a totally amazing time of rejuvenation, creativity and discovery, as well as yielding truly wonderful results, well beyond the intentions I’d set for myself for that retreat.

It was an awesome experience and I’m totally delighted and excited to be your guide on this journey; to share with you many ways for you to experience this kind of awakening in your harp playing - and in your life too!

WHAT LEVEL PLAYER IS THIS RETREAT FOR?
For experience levels from Fledgling to Advanced.
More important than technical playing level, it is about the level of inspiration, creativity, vibrancy and enjoyment that a player seeks. From this retreat you will take away wisdom, skills and new perspectives that are not only meaningful for the level you are at now but for the level you are growing towards.

Rejuvenating and reinvigorating your practice, playing, artistry and creativity, as well as experiencing new life-long perspectives will help keep you inspired and deeply in love with playing the harp!

DO I NEED TO BRING A HARP?
Yes. I highly recommend that you bring the most portable harp you have, as the retreat center and lodgings are spread out over a nice sized area. Most areas have car access but if you want to be able to take your harp to the water’s edge or sit under the stars on the grass to play, a smaller harp will be preferable. If you have any harp questions, feel free to ask me martha@adkharper.com

WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC IS THIS FOR?
No style of music is being focused on. Ideas, inspirations and techniques will apply to all styles of music - ie Trad., Jazz, Therapeutic, Folk, Contemplative, Classical, You Name It!

DOES THE RETREAT FEE INCLUDE FOOD AND LODGING?
No. The fee for the retreat itself and the fees for food/lodging are separate, allowing you more freedom in your arrangements.

The fee for the retreat itself, Nurture in Nature pricing, is only for the retreat activities but covers all retreat activities, including the Forest Bathing Immersion on Fri. AM, the Cooking Demo, Sat. evening's concert.

CAN I BRING MY FAMILY?
Yes! The Adirondacks offers a wide variety of activities for people of all ages, interests and fitness levels - it is a great place for spouses, partners, families to enjoy while you attend the retreat. Your family is most welcome to stay and eat at the Lake Clear Lodge. Once you have registered for the retreat you can contact the Lodge directly to learn about flexible family meal and lodging options.

Please Note: Only retreat attendees will be able to take part in retreat activities, such as Forest Bathing Immersion and the Cooking Demo. Tickets for the Sat. evening concert will be available for purchase by non-attendees.
