Boldly Going Nowhere

This is a fun song to play! It has absolutely nothing to say and no imagery or particular feeling about it. I thought it was the perfect title for this collection of music.

It is very unusual for a recording to contain songs all written in one musical key. In this case, the key of G. The reason for this is everything will tend to sound the same.

This song is intended to be something of a palate cleanser -- a song that breaks up the sameness and gives the listener something a little different, but without going anywhere.

Also, I never felt it was really complete. It didn't "resolve". At least at the time. Since this was recorded I have added another section which, for me, lends to a resolution. Like all good stories, I hope my songs have beginnings, middles, and endings.

Boldly Going Nowhere was intended to be the middle of a series of songs not separated by space or defined musical tracks. These songs, in order, are New Beginnings, Just Thinkin, this song &, Lullaby for Martha. However, when we mastered this collection, we felt the space was appropriate to give the listener a moment before the next musical image (or non-image in this case).
